18 June Trek – The Upper Snake River Valley chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers is planning a short trek on June 18, 2018. The purpose of the trek is to learn some of the early history of this area. We plan to visit the Fort Henry Monument north of Salem and then continue to the Fort Henry Monument in St Anthony. Louis Clements will tell about the early Trappers and their history in the Snake River Valley as we view the two monuments. We will meet at the Senior Center for lunch at 12:00 Noon and leave the center at 12:40 PM. If you wish not to eat, but would like to join us for the trek, we will car pool at the center about 12:30 and leave from there. In order to have sufficient food the Senior Center will need to know how many will be attending lunch Please notify Ken Hart by Thursday if you will be eating with us.
The Trek scheduled for June 18 has been modified. Because of the weather it was necessary to cancel the original plans and go to the Rexburg Tabernacle where Louis Clements talked about the Fort Henry Monuments, the early trappers and the Sugar Beet location. It was a very enjoyable hour and had approximately fifteen SUP members in attendance.
